120 weekly limit, does it end today?

Searched on Google to see when the new weekly coke code limit comes in to play.  I did not see anything definitive.  Therefore I entered my weekly allotment of 120 coke points today in case the number decreases to 100 tomorrow.  My luck all Diet Coke products will be bonus points to coincide with New Years Resolutions and I won't be able to enter any because I maxed out today. C'est la vie!
P.S. In case you were wondering....all 120 points were 3 point caps.....on both account.  Fingers tired and eyes blurry ;-) Happy New Year

MM at Whole Foods on Zevia - Lunchtime Haul

Zevia is on sale 2/$6 at Whole Foods until tomorrow.
Used (4) $2/1 IP MQ and (4) $1/1 Whole Foods Store coupon PLUS when I purchased (4) Zevia, Whole Foods gave me a case discount of $1.20; thus, I made 30cents profit on each 6pack!!! **YMMV. I had not realized they gave me the case discount when I presented my coupons.  Manager was called over and said okay but store policy does not allow money makers.  I told him he could take the case discount off as I did not want to cause any issues with store policy.  He smiled and said and "Happy New Year!" **
I also picked up some really awesome  Belgiosio Parmesan Cheese.  We eat a lot of whole grain pasta so I like to treat my family with the good cheese every once in awhile.  Plus I found a rebate on cheese that expires tomorrow - YIPPIE!

I have a 2014 Dream. Finding a Northern VA stockpile exchange

I belong to a forum, iheartpublix dot com. I started here because I was, and I still, having a hard time on afullcup dot com.  Every time I try to send private messages or post on afullcup forum it tells me I don't have posts.  It is maddening because how do I get post credit if I can't post anywhere.  Any-who I digressed. One of the really neat things they do on iheartpublix is they have regular overstocked stockpile exchanges.  This is where couponers in an area gather and exchange stockpile items from their stockpiles.  Have too much of an item - trade it.  Need something - trade for it.  Purchase dog food to get overage but don't have a dog - trade it.  Did you get something for free however now your kids hate it - trade it.  What an Awesome idea!!

The stockpile thread starts with a date and place.  The physical exchange is usually done at a restaurant parking lot.  People post what they have to trade and how many of each item and what they are looking for.  In October we took the autotrain down to Florida because I had a conference to attend.  It also coincided with a Tampa stockpile exchange.  Therefore, I was able to participate in a stockpile exchange. Trading is done via email before hand so I had individual bags organized and ready with my trading items.  There were about 12 people in attendance.  We had name tags.  The organizer even had a prize drawing of coupons.  I loved it.  It was a great way to meet people and develope relationships with fellow couponers. People traded food, drinks, toys, diapers, coupons, laundry items, personal care items such as shampoo / conditioner / lotion/ etc, school supplies, fruits and veggies from their garden, etc.  I got rid of some overstocked Kandoo baby wipes (free at Target with the pdf coupon), dog treats (we have no dog but they were overage at Target), Bounce dryer sheets (that were free at Target over the summer), and some other items.  I came home with products that we use and need.  It was a win-win!

My dream is find a Northern VA stockpile exchange.  We don't have to meet at restaurant maybe meet at a non profit parking lot therefore any leftover stockpile can be easily donated.  I think it would be great!!!

Giant's Gas Deal from Last week follow-up

Last Week Giant had a gas deal where you would purchase (7) boxes of Krusteaz Cookie mixes get 400 gas points.  The Cookie mix was $1.50 a box.  I have tons of .55/1 MQ which double making the cookie mix 40 cents a box.  I had enough tearpads and insert coupons to do this deal 9 times plus give a relative 7 coupons so they could do the deal once.  The last day of the deal I noticed Giant had a sign that said the cookie mix was on sale for $1.14 (someone placed the add for next week up early).  Therefore, my last transaction I paid 4cents a box---yippie!

SUMMARY:
Paid for 63 boxes of Krusteaz cookie mix = $22.40 + .28 cents = $22.68
Got 3,600 in gas points ($126.00 savings with 35 gallons - which we have been maxing out lately)
Donated the cookie mix for $91.30 in donations

Recycling in Loudoun County just got complicated

I was in Loudoun today so I stopped by a few Recycle Centers.  There are new bins out.  At first I was excited because the window was lower to gain access inside.  That is until I realized that the Recycle Center bins are now for EVERYTHING!  Yep, just like Arlington, Falls Church, and Prince William ... everything mixed together.  Mixed Recycling.   So beer bottle goop is now with inserts, newspaper, Kelloggs boxes, and coke boxes, bottles, cans, etc.  People were complaining left and right at each Recycle Center.  It made dumpster diving extremely difficult today :-( and I really really really need some Coke Codes :-(

Safeway -Bag of Kettle Chips 99cents? will this MQ from Giant work at Safeway?

I am going to see if I can use this MQ at Safeway this week to get Kettle Chips for 99cents.  The only reason I question is because Giant and Martin store logos are blasted on the coupon and cashiers can be very very picky.  But this will help with packing lunches plus my family loves this brand

The Gift Card Shell Shuffle Game

Once again Theresa over a LoudounCountyLimbo got me thinking.  I have always used Target gift cards to pay for other gift cards, especially Disney gift cards; however, I never gave it much thought to shuffle gift cards at other stores.  I have seen it posted on hundreds of blogs where bloggers swapped out gift cards but I never paid that much attention.  I think the reason I never jumped on board before is the initial $100 cost plus the activation fee.  I hate activation fees.  I think it like flushing money down the toilet.  I always thought the initial $100 buy in was steep.  In the past I would consider weekly gas purchases just the cost of working and cheap groceries were my savings.  I just never connected the two together because of the initial high dollar buy in.  But Theresa recently posted and I decided to give it ole college try.

Cashing in on Giant's Gas Deal last night

Thanks to Theresa at LCL I was able to do the 400 gas points when you purchase 6 Hormel Wraps.  I did the deal three times and a Chili deal once the following week.  That gave me over 1600 points or $1.60 off gas at the pump.  Last night local stations were calling for another storm so hubby and I went out and filled up my car, his car, and a 5 gallon container of gas. Pumped 29.2 gallons - saved $46.72 on gas!  Giant is now a part of my couponing/saving life.....no matter how bad the traffic is to get there on the way home.

Thanks Theresa over at Loudoun County Limbo!  I was able to snag 18 wraps for about $1.25 each plus earn over 1200 points in gas rewards.

Hubby has a new job outside the home so packing lunches is a necessity to save money.  Those wraps will come in handy for lunches.  Since Hubby is driving more we have a larger line item in the budget for gas.  The 1200 points will be a nice savings on gasoline.

If you read this Theresa .... thank you!  I never really paid attention to the gas deals.  I used to get some gas deals at Safeway until they changed their policy to where only the actual amount spent after coupons is used towards gas points.  In addition, Safeway does not promote special items to get more gas points so it is almost impossible for me to get gas points at Safeway.  Giant is just not convenient to home or work so I never really paid attention to the gas deals there.   However, now that hubby is working out of the home saving money at the pump is very important and a high priority.  The small traffic congested detour to Giant Food tonight was worth every parking, driving, traffic congested nightmare hassle.

Black Friday 2013

This year I really did not have a need or desire to venture out on Black Friday UNTIL my brother pointed out that Best Buy has the SamSung Galaxy S4 for FREE.  My cell phone is 10 years old and I am dire need of a new phone.  Friday night at 9:30pm I stopped by Best Buy thinking most of the lines of would be gone ...WRONG.  I was at Best Buy till 1:30am and because it was so late I had to return the following day to finish up the process.  Being the last one out of the store had its benefits as an employee stumbled across a hidden $79.99 tablet - which was gone within 15 minutes of the doors opening on Thanksgving Day.  I had been searching for a cheap tablet to give my son because I really need my ipad back.  We looked at Leapfrog and other devices but the cartridges are so costly.  So when I got a $79.99 tablet, I was thrilled.  Next day I got my new phone.  Happy electronic dance :-)
