Cliff Notes: Paid 3 cents

Unabridged version:  I had 20 coupons at check out but 4 of my IP coupons would not scan so HT would not accept them.  No Biggie - I had them take the items off.  Because of the back and forth with the coupons I lost track and final tally was $6.03....which was WAY OVER PRICED.  I paid it and went over my receipt while still in the store.  (3) $1.00 coupons did not scan.  Customer service gave me $6 back in cash; therefore, I ended up only paying 3 cents

Purchased:
(6) Barilla Pasta Meals - on sale from a raincheck for $2 - used (6) $1/1 Qs
(3) Pop Secret.  I am so digging the new Sweet 'n Crunchy Caramel flavor
(3) Planters Peanuts.  I finally found them!!! YIPPIE!  :-)
(1) Colgate Optic White Toothpaste
(4) Campbell's Homestyle soup -Had (2) $1/1 and (1) 1/2 tearpad coupons from a trade

Got home very late from work...guess what we had for dinner tonight ;-)

HTSD cheers and disappointments

Disappointments:
* A lot of my ZVRs not coming off
* Hawaiian Punch coupon not doubling
* Finding a HT that carries Quaker Warm & Crunchy Oatmeal.  Most of my stores stopped carrying it
* Not finding the Land O' Frost Premium mini lunch meats.  Looks like they are being replaced by a new packaging of Land O' Frost lunchmeat.  I am not surprised to see it being phased it as the former container was next to impossible to reseal.  However they are the perfect size for my 5 year old's little hands.  
* Increasingly number of couponers.  The number of coupon binder couponers increase with each SD event.  I can't blame them for couponing...just disappointed to find empty shelves.  This time around I increased my HT DC area shopping so that I could find items in stock. 
* $2/1 Right Guard coupon auto scans at $1.50/1

Cheers:
* Super Doubles in general is always a thumbs up and Cheers!
* The FREE Suave Kids Shampoo/Conditioner and Body Wash
* Power of Rainchecks.  I was able to get a ton of Barilla meals this SD thanks to an active $1/1 coupon and raincheck.  I also got several Keebler Coconut Dream cookies for pennies thanks to overage, raincheck, and active coupons.  Rainchecks may be the new way for me to shop during HTSD since finding current deals is getting harder and harder to find with the increasing number of couponers out there.  Rainchecks have the power to make it your own private personal deal.

Quick HT purchase before Work

Darted in to HT super quick this morning since I was late for work. This HT store is 2 stories so I really did not have time for a complete shopping trip. This morning's goal was to get (3) Hawaiian Punch & (3) Quaker Warm and Crunchy Oatmeals....Goal Complete!  Since the coupons were manually entered I can use 20 coupons after work today when I do a complete shopping trip.  Manually entered coupons also created overage towards my Hawaiian Punch drinks---yeah! 

This is hands down my favorite freebie during HTSD-what is yours?

Glad to be home and hitting Super Doubles

I gave my son's godfather my stack of coupons to use while I was gone for HTSD and he did an okay job :-) Got home from Pennsylvania on Friday and immediately hit the stores.  Then went back out again after midnight for all my Saturday deals.  Today was the first calm day to post so sorry about the delay.

Today I hit 2 stores to max out my card and my son's godfather card.
Cliff Notes:  In the end I paid 46cents between the 2 stores. 

First store: Cashier was a pain in my backside.  I have never seen her before and I hope I never have to see her again.
*My $1.00 off your next visit catalina scanned and doubled.  Cashier took it upon herself to void the double portion because the catalina says do not double.  I told her to give me the catalina back as another store will gladly take it when it auto scans and auto doubles.  That is my first evil look from the cashier from Hades
*She manually took off my Motts apple juice double coupon as she said I had over 20 coupons.  I pointed out I did not because the 21st coupon.....was over $2 and therefore was only at face value.  Second evil look from the cashier from Hades
* Cashier called over a manager about my (3) Pop Secret IP coupons.  She was whispering to the manager.  I could hear something about (3) IP vs (2) IP coupons.  I was ready for a fight on the new policy when the manager waved and said it was okay.  I asked the cashier what was wrong with my coupons and her response was "I asked a question." I said what question do you have over my coupons.  The Cashier from Hades just responded again "I asked a question."
* At one point I looked at her name tag and used her first name in every sentence out my mouth.  It drove her nuts so I continued.  I hate to be so petty but she was a pain in the back side.
* She kept muttering under her breath and I kept smiling and using her first name.
* She did not like my Triscuit coupon and once again called over a manager.  It is now taking me over 20 minutes to check out. 
* I kept smiling and thanked her again and again using her first name.  At one point she walked away from her register and both of us agreed that I should have a manager continue my check out at customer service.  It took me 35 minutes to check out. 
* None of my ZVR came off, but then I hear most ZVRs are not coming off.
* In the end I pay $1.90 OOP

Second Store:  No picture, sorry.  The weather was crazy today,  The small 2-story store was mobbed.  I just wanted get in and out.
Purchased (3) Pop Secrets; (3) Mitchum deodorants; (6) Balance Bars; (3) Think Thin Bars; (3) Hershey spreads
* Only used 15 coupons :-( It was so crowded I just want out of there. 
* Should have only paid tax but some how my bill was $1.71
* I got my receipt and noticed one my $1.50/1 Hershey Spread coupons did not scan
* Got coupon from cashier and went to customer service.  CS not only gave me $1.50 back for the face value of the coupon but they also doubled it so I got back $3.15 total.

I am in Pennsylvania for a business trip.  So I am a coupon tourist.  Found this great coupon to use During Super Doubles with the $1/1 Newton cookie coupon.  Fig Newtons are on BOGO.  Cheap cookies and FREE fruit...Yeah!

Busy Busy Busy

Work is extremely busy.  Unfortunately, I am out of town for the first part of SD - boo hoo.

I am stocking up on Easter candy and CVS has a good deal on Reese's eggs.  The minimum to buy is six to get the best deal.

Here is an interesting Food Lion Catalina I found.  Now through 9/12/2014, for every $20 you spend on Nestle Frozen Meals, you will receive a $2.50 reward that can be used on your next shopping trip. The bottom of the ticket shows a running tally so it looks like you do not have to spend it all in one trip.  Will have to research for more details.  
Found (6) Week 4 Food Lion Promo tickets so far.  Kinda bummed because work has kept me too busy to really look.

Deposited $46.99 in rebate checks today

Trashy Food Lion

I stopped at strip mall where Trashy Food Lion located looking for Week 3 catalinas.  Sure enough there tucked next to the Pepsi machine outside was a Week 3.  That now makes (3) Week 3 - YEAH!
Trashy Food Lion- you decide?  It was a cold blustery day with extreme winds.  Here is picture of the cyclone of trash circulating in the parking lot.  There is so much trash that a flock of seagulls - no not the 80's hair band- call the parking lot their home and personal food bank.

Rant - Why Hubby...why????

Warning this is a hubby rant.

Hubby called last night to say he was working late.  I asked if he could stop by Food Lion to check for week 3 catalina tickets.  I was already lucky enough to find one week 3 catalina but it pays to search at different times during the day because you never know what you might find.  Hubby comes home to say he had a week 3.  I was elated until he said he got it buying groceries.  The smile quickly dissipated from my face because I knew hubby did not have a single coupon.  He told me he paid $45 for produce and a few items.  I look at receipt and his $45 was a total impulse purchase except for maybe $10 in fruits in veggies.  He just broke every coupon code and rule in the book. Arrrrgghhhhh!  **Pounds Head on Desk**

Food Lion Tickets

I found (5) Week One Food Lion tickets and (6) Week Two Food Lion tickets so far.  I think I could have found more if I was not so busy at work and if the weather cooperated.  Not complaining as I am still happy with my Food Lion Catalina finds.

No week 2 catalinas yet, but I did get these coupons in the mail Food Lion.  Too bad I hate this store to actually spend money there

Recycle Day Tally

There was a lot of recycle competition in Loudoun County today.  There was HEAVY competition for the Coke Codes and Kelloggs Codes.  I was also bummed to learn that the last two recycle centers with red newspaper only bins are GONE :-( Now everything is definitely mixed recyclable with beer goop on top of coupon inserts :-(
