Shoppers Food Warehouse / McCormick Grinders
Salt and Pepper McCormick Grinders are on sale 2/$4 at Shoppers Food Warehouse 4/17 to 4/23. Use .75/1 from the RP 04/06/14. Coupon doubles making the McCormick Grinder 50cent each. We did not get the .75/1 in the Washington Post (WP got $1/2 RP 04/06/14) but my friends in Georgia and Florida did so I traded for them.
Not only are these great to have around the house but these make great Father's Day gifts for men at church or school. Place Grinders in a see thru gift bag. Then look in your stockpile for seasoning packets and BBQ to add to the gift bag. Place everything in a cute baggie with pretty ribbon and you have an inexpensive BBQ gift for Fathers Day. I will post a picture as soon as I purchase the Grinder to give you some gift ideas

First $20 Holiday Promo Ticket
Cliff Notes: Paid Zero
Unabridged version: I got all these items in my cart; however, I miss calculated and my total was -.54 cents. This negative number caused an immediate panic at Hateful Food Lion. I felt like a shoplifter because every manager within a 100 mile radius swooped in within a seconds. I told in rhetoric and in unison by the managers that Food Lion does not give money back. I never asked for money back there was an automatic assumption. Finally I was able to get a word in and I politely asked if I could get this 69cents Hershey candy bar located at the register check out so get the balance could get in the the positive. I stood there for a few minutes while the managers discussed and agreed I could get one candy bar. Unfortunately that request exasperated the situation and locked down the transaction. Mangers were taking off and adding coupons left and right. Going through my 2 bags as if they were searching for a bomb. You see the picture...there is not a lot of anything to really look for. after 30+ minutes I finally was able to get a word in and asked, "Can we just call this a wash...either with or without the candy bar, please? After another long debate I was allowed to leave the store with everything in the cart plus the candy bar. Holy Moly! There is a good and valid reason I call this store "Hateful Food Lion."

Back in the Groove
My hotel for work was located in downtown Memphis so I did not have access to any grocery stores or coupon hunting. However, Memphis is an awesome town with great food and music. I had a lot of fun on my limited down time from work.
Today is my first full day back home. Time to roll up the sleeves and dig back in the coupon trenches (and do lots of laundry ;-)
SAFEWAY: Purchased (42) Angel Soft 4pack toilet paper. I had a Just4U personalized price of 97cents. Used (42) .45/1 MQ which doubled making it 7cents a 4pack. I ended up going to two different stores to get all the TP.
Food Lion: “one man's trash is another man's treasure”

Finished up my $20 Holiday Dinner Promo. I got one $20 ticket during week 6 and today I cashed in enough tickets to get (6) more $20 Holiday Dinner tickets. Seven tickets total for $140 in FREE groceries from Food Lion. Not too shabby considering the bizzare weather we had at the beginning of the promo and I was out of town for work for almost 2 weeks during the middle of the Promo.

Safeway: Purchased 40 coupons to get more Angel Soft 4pack for 7cents. I rarely purchase coupons but this is too good to pass up and my stockpile was getting low on TP.
Food Lion: I got all excited when I stopped by Food Lion. I found a promo ticket on the ground only to discover it was a leftover week 6. Arrrrghhhh, the one week I definitely do not need more of. Hopefully when I get back from home from my business trip I will be able to find the final week in the Promo-Week 7...and then cash in. I already know I will be purchasing mostly meats this time around.
