Embracing the heavily trafficked couponing HT stores

I have been thinking about this a lot this week during the current Super Doubles.  I have always hoarded rainchecks from various stores.  However, this was the first time I used them during HTSD.  Theresa over at LCL got me thinking about it some more.  Today I went through my rain checks and found one for $2 Chocolate Toast Crunch and  $2 Right Guard.  The $2 CTC matched perfectly with my $1/1 General Mills cereal coupons and the $2 Right Guard matched perfected to a $1/1 coupon I got from a 5K race almost a year ago (and was expiring today).  This is  today's haul - paid 37 cents for tax only
Before leaving the store I grabbed 5 different rain checks.  I am already scouting out tomorrow's ad for potential rainchecks.  Thus, I am embracing the heavily trafficked coupon HT stores in hopes of seeing OOS items for rainchecks.  Then hopefully using those rain-checks to create my own personal private Super Doubles deals.  This also means match ups for the next Super Doubles will take more time but then the pay off might well be worth it.

Also on a related note.....please check your receipts.  I have spent more time at customer service this SD than any other SD.  Today I handed the cashier 20 coupons; however, only 18 scanned.  Check out at the grocery store is like being in a casino - the odds are in favor of the house.  Most mistakes are in favor for the grocery store.  Know your math before check out and if something is wrong try your best to resolve it before leaving the store.  Don't let your hard earned money go to waste.

  1. Nice job! I ran to HT last night to get the meal deal and hopefully find a few oos items restocked - no such luck. I nearly fainted when my total came to $25! LOL None of my ZVR's came off nor the Meal Deal discount. CS rep told me "you and one other lady are the only shoppers who ever come up here and ask for your ZVR money back!" Drat - forgot to get r/c's for the oos items.....

  2. That is a great deal!! I had a lot of problems with my coupons this time. There was one that they put in as a competitiors coupon because it said redeem at Walmart and I didn't realize after all that they didn't double it. I was super irritated when I got home and saw that after having to go to customer service because my Minute Maid ZVR didn't come off either and my Right Guard coupon rang up for $1.50 instead of $2.00 so my receipt was a mess. They fixed some at the register and I had to go to customer service to get the others except after all that I still missed $1 doubler! I don't know why they don't have more people going and asking for their money back but it is my money so I am going to wait and get it :) They mumbled some thing about getting rid of the evic zvr system....well, until they do, give me back my money! I am your newest follower through GFC :)

    1. Hi Alison! :-)
I think most people don't check their receipt at the store. I think they may notice the mistake at home. So I think they feel like it is hassle, hard to prove, or hard to re-create after they have left the store so they let it go. Not me ;-)
